It's baby-time again. Rachel Elizabeth Vardaman was born on Nov. 12 (Scorpio girls unite!) She weighed in at a healthy 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long.

Baby, mother, father, brother, dogs and fish are all doing well.

Farewell, Milano's, we knew you well...

Yep, that's right folks, Milano's has shuttered its doors. They're currently looking for a new location, but in the meantime, the old relaible haunt is gone. I guess we drank there more often than we thought.... ;)
So, in lieu of Milano's, any suggestions for a good after work drinks place? I've been thinking it's been a while since we got all the lushes together....

Web Designer - FLASH
Location: Universal City
Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Web Designer to work on entertainment company website.
This candidate should be a solid front end designer with strong front end skills able to give look and feel within the corporate guide-lines for web sites. Ability to do basic backend development/programming is a plus but not required.

Job entails:

80% Design of front-end for web site, 20% use of basic ActionScripts for pulling up links and video pull-ups.
Basic Flash/ActionScript skills is required. Flash is the top skill desired.
Basic skills in JavaScript, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Portfolio with applicable experience required at submittal. Looking for the most current uses of Flash/ActionScript on sites. ( video/links/ mouse-overs

Matt's Homecoming

(Before you jump to any conclusions, I want to say I don't know when Matt is coming home. It's roughly another 3 months! It's also very likely I won't know until a few days/hours within his arrival due to the nature of the Navy/Army)

Hey everyone,
I don't usually post here, but I think this is a good idea because I need everyone's help and I don't necessarily want Matt to know! Since neither Matt nor I have experienced deployment before, I am looking for some suggestions to help make things easy for his big welcome home. Well, I guess I'm jumping ahead of myself since I don't know when he is coming home, but it's soon!!!!! I have been looking for answers on the web, but haven't had much luck. It's all a bit emotional and overwhelming, so I really would appreciate all the help I can get. I have some questions... not sure where to get answers...

• Do I throw him a welcome home party immediately?
  
• Who should greet him at the airport? How many people?
  
• Should I wait a while before throwing a party? How long do I wait?
  
• What kind of party do I throw? Alcohol? No? Loud music?
  
• Formal party, or casual, laid back? Lunch or dinner?
  
• What do we talk about? Can I ask about his experience in Iraq?
  
• Is it okay to talk about Iraq?
  
• Any welcome home banner at the house? Inside or outside?
  
• Will it be too overwhelming for him? For me?
  
• Should I decorate the house? The garden outside?
  
• I don't know what to expect!
• Am I forgetting anything?

This little gal was stuck on a roof near a friend's house. They got her down, and tried unsuccessfully to track down her humans... so of course a call was made to the crazy cat lady! She's very lovey-dovey and purrs non-stop.

Sorry folks...

If you're having problems posting to this account, it's probably because of the new Blogger to Gmail conversions... and if some of us converted one of our accounts, it converts any other blogs we're associated to... and then there are some blog accounts that Blogger won't convert yet, blocking the newly converted to blogging there...

Ya, confusing. Welcome to 2007!

Hopefully blogger will let me convert this blog soon so that these are all on the new 'system'.
